SOVEREIGN COUNCIL OF MOKOPUNA
OATH OF ALLEGIANCE
I, …………………...................................................................................., sovereign
being in my own right and whenua/land, recognise and acknowledge the inherent
sovereignty and birthrights of all individuals, regardless of time and space.
I recognise and acknowledge the sovereign rights of every individual in every Whanau
Hapu, in their collective capacity to elect a representative to empower them in the
governance of our country, Tiritiri-O-Te-Moana (Aotearoa, New Zealand).
With humility and reverence I choose to honour the trust placed in me and hold
sacrosanct my pledge to serve as Mokopuna, with dignity and integrity, my sovereign
Whanau Hapu of
...............................................................................................……………, as their duly
elected Mokopuna Representative on the Sovereign Council of Mokopuna, until such
time as this Whanau Hapu collectively, decide otherwise, or I choose to resign.
I recognise and acknowledge the tangata whenua status of Maori as the lawful
kaitiaki/guardians, and governing Sovereign Authority through birthright, of all that
traditionally constitutes Tiritiri-O-Te-Moana (Aotearoa, New Zealand), and I recognise
and acknowledge Tikanga/Divine Law as the only legitimate Law of the Land.
I hereby solemnly and sincerely swear,
on the integrity and love inherent in me from tupuna past,
the love and trust invested in me by the Mokopuna of today,
the love and responsibility entrusted to me for the Mokopuna yet unborn,
and the Wairua that I AM,
to unswervingly serve as Mokopuna;
ALL Mokopuna, timeless, loved, precious and ONE;
to the very nth degree of my being.
